Worshipping DiC-Battletoads

Ok, so it's day 4, but I decided not to wait till the last minute to do something...something I'm quite guilty of actually. Anyway, DiC's version of RARE's Battletoads characters.

PSYCHOTRONIC! COSMORIFFIC!

So, there was only one episode...a pilot to be exact, written by David Wise, whom nerds like me know as the guy that wrote a lot of the Fred Wolf Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons in the late 80's and Batman The Animated Series, and if I'm correct, is still writing cartoons today. DiC's version was pretty campy. I'm not saying the game wasn't, cause it was, unless you're talking about the Super Battletoads Arcade game, which is quite bloody and violent, but the show just couldn't stand up against the Turtles. They were just too popular. The cartoon also changed a few things as well. The kids had their original names from the game, and even the toad forms names were kept, but, they made them high school students, not game testers...take that back. They were high school students obsessed with video games. Professor T-Bird sounded like I'd always imagined him to, as did Princess Angelica and the Dark Queen. I think if someone tried to do it again, it'd be pretty successful. I also think that the calls to Gamestop and such would start all over again about pre-ordering a copy of Battletoads for the Wii, with a complimentary Wii strap, lol.

LET'S GET WARTY!!!!

Worshipping DiC-Gadget and the Gadgetinis

I've watched every incarnation of Inspector Gadget there is. From the original series, to Gadget Boy and Heather to all the direct to VHS/DVD releases and finally Gadget and the Gadgetinis. Yeah, I've got it pretty bad I suppose. Here's Penny and her creations, the Gadgetinis...Fidget and Digit. I actually like this show. I had heard about it for years and hadn't been able to find any until now. It's drawn more cartoony than the original, but the animation is still pretty good and I love the colors. Oh, and I'm so hardcore Inspector Gadget that I know things like...Penny's original name in the French version is Sophie and Dr. Claw's name is Dr. Gang. Awesome.

Worshipping DiC-Go Go Gadget

I'm on this whole "DiC is the Awesomeness" kick. I edited Dr. Claw's hand because the original was all jacked up. I also added some highlights to his wrist spike thingies. I added a glow to Penny's (Sophie's) wristwatch and fixed a line on Inspecteur Gadget's hat. The Dr. Claw picture is still probably my most favorite piece in my gallery to this day.

Worshipping DiC-The Littles

his picture was actually part of a bigger picture that didn't turn out the way I wanted. Tom and Dinky turned out way smaller than Lucy and there was no way to salvage them. Anyway, here come the littles...er...a little. Based on he children's book of the same name. Awesome cartoon. Awesome theme song!

Worshipping DiC-Beverly Hills Teens

No jokes! I used to LOVE Beverly Hills Teens (BeceBege in France) and it was one of the best animated kids shows on TV in 1987. Got some kind of award I believe. Good ol' awesome 80's Japanese animated American cartoons. Gotta love it. The theme song plays constantly in my head. I think when I was drawing this (because all day I was having problems trying to get stuff to look right), I subconsciously made Lark and Troy look a little more toony than normal...exaggerated faces and whatnot. Either way, it's not perfect, but I still like it, and I think my kitchen background fits nicely.
